The Fear Of The Lord 3

There are many delightful and blessed things that accompany the fear of the Lord.

We know that we are the children of God.

Romans 8:16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

We know that we will never face God*s condemnation.

Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We know that we have eternal life.

1 John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The wisdom and knowledge we need to live a stable life in these troublous times is available to us.

Isaiah 33:13: And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

A believer should fear the chastening of God. He should fear the influences of the world, the flesh and the Devil. He should fear the lust of the flesh. He should fear sinning. He should fear disobeying God. He should fear neglecting the Bible. He should fear skipping church.

Proverbs 8:13: The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 10:27: The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Proverbs 14:26-27: In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Proverbs 15:16: Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Proverbs 15:33: The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 16:6: By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Proverbs 19:23: The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Proverbs 22:4: By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

Proverbs 23:17: Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.
